Jordon's speech

Why Gaming Is More Interesting  Than School Work

Hi  my name is Jordon I'm going to talk to you about why I think gaming is more interesting than school work.

Firstly, games like building games, driving games and even shooting games helps you to learn different skills. It can teach you to read, spell and do your maths. Take minecraft for a example. It can teach you maths with all the numbers and counting in the game.

There are some online maths games that can help you with some maths just look up some maths sites and you can find some good ones that can show you how to solve maths problems.

Secondly, gaming teaches you  researching skills.  If you are stuck on a level you can research some good facts that can help you with the game. You can get some cheats and codes that can help you through it and if there is something in the game you don't get, you can just look it up on youtube, so it can show you what to do.

There are some games that can help you to do more learning. Because the game can show you how to read even sometimes the game reads to you so you know what to do. You can get help with your spelling like if there are some words you didn't know about. They can read it to you and tell you all about it.

Thirdly, you can get a good online education program for around thirty  dollars a month and when people start playing games and think they're good at it they go and bet for money but sometimes you can win and sometimes you lose.

In conclusion  I think gaming is more interesting than school work because you can still learn the same amount of learning you do at school with online games.

And that is why i think gaming is more interesting than school work.

My name is Lochie and I live in the cold place called the west coast. I really enjoyed reading about how gaming is more interesting than school [ I agree].

Next time you should check your punctuation because I saw some mistakes. I like your fourth paragraph because it says you can use spelling check to fix your spelling and I use it.

We are doing biographies about peace I chose nelson mandela because he is a great example of peace. If you would like to see it click on this link Blog.

  5. Hi Jordon my name is Shanen from Kawakawa Primary School, I really find your statement interesting when you said gaming is more interesting then school...I agree, games do teach you how to build and other skills like that, but then when you build in a game like minecraft it doesn't show you the measurement to use or how big of the material to use.

I also would like to say good job on the statement, and how you made it sound really good. Keep up the good work =)

  18. Kia ora Jordan,

My name is Poppy-blu and I am from the West Coast, South Island, Karoro School. What a great Speech Jordan! I love the topic you made it on, I do agree with you that games can be used for learning and sometimes make learning more interesting. Learning is still very important as well as games are, but yes I can definitely relate to this speech! I definitely think that you can learn skills from games too, well done.

I still really enjoyed reading your speech but there were a few errors. In the last sentence there is a lowercase ‘i’ that needs to be a capital. Also make sure you don’t make a paragraph with one sentence, it should be at least four sentences in a paragraph. But overall well done!!

At the moment my class are doing speeches too. They are called TED talks. I have heard ones about pokemon, animals, the ocean, and ones about bullying. My speech is about pollution, I know it sounds a bit boring but I have made it so it is entertaining. Good on you for completing that speech. Make sure you go back and fix up a couple of things. Good Work! :)
