  1. Kia ora Jordon and Alazhay. This was a good attempt to make a DLO. What were you learning? What is the strategy called and why does it always work? I look forward to seeing further DLO's.

My name is Summer. I’m from the West Coast. I love activities such as sports, cooking/baking. I’m a year 7 student in Ruma Tahi at Karoro school. Also I quite like speaking in other languages.

I really like your idea of how to solve a division in an easy way. I would recommend this strategy. You can use this strategy but not for odd numbers for an example 40÷7 you can halve the forty but what about the seven? But this is a really good idea for even numbers only!

Thanks for sharing your posts I can't wait to see more of your posts. It would be really great for your class to post more stuff for everyone to comment. I found dividing numbers quite hard when I first started so this is the same strategy I used for dividing even numbers. Thanks for sharing.

My name is Madison and I live on the West Coast of New Zealand. I enjoyed watching your video about double and halving. I am also a year 8.

I really like how you could identify a different way of finding out the answer to a division question by using this type of strategy. It was also great to see that you were really confident of solving and showing how to solve this equation by one person holding the camera and explaining the equation, while one person writes out the equation.

It was awesome to see that you guys had thought of this equation and I am pretty sure that you would have helped those that might not have known this way of solving division. This was a nice and simple equation to show everyone and you were also very clear when saying the equation, so was the person who was writing the equation. We also use this technique at school.

What I think you could work on next time would be to try and keep the camera steady and maybe use a harder strategy for those who already know this equation and need something a bit harder than that equation. I also think you could try doing two strategies at the same time with one of them with an easy equation then, one of them with a hard equation.

Apart from that I think that you had a very helpful video for those who didn’t know this strategy. I would also like to see more of your videos on your blog, and maybe you could check out my school blog.

    Kind Regards

    Madison
